What is recorded here
Seven houses clustered in Crumlin townland on a 1701 map, now erased from memory. They may have belonged to tenant farmers, fish traders, or a single large family sharing walls and risks. The survey captured them before time and neglect removed them. What remains is a shape on old paper, waiting for someone to walk the field and recognize the depression where a doorway stood.
This record refers to a cluster of seven houses marked in Crumlin townland on a 1701 'Trustees Survey' map (National Library of Ireland microfilm, no. 645, p. 35). The exact location of the houses is unknown.
