An Cloigeann in dumha Éige, County Mayo, holds a settlement cluster where people likely built, buried or marked life before modern records. The name suggests a small cluster rather than a grand palace, perhaps farms, shelters or ritual places nested together. They may have read the land by heart, using its shapes to decide where stone, fire or faith belonged.
