Second floor of Tower-house, Kisimul Castle is a castle, fort or tower in Na h-Eileanan Siar, Scotland. Perhaps wind still moves through the chamber like a living thing. Built by the MacNeils of Barra, a powerful clan with Norse-Gaelic heritage, in the 15th or 16th century. Kisimul Castle, including its tower-house, is important as a symbol of the clan's historical control over the Western Isles and as a rare example of medieval island fortress architecture.
