Sean Downey

Sean Downey was born in Dromore, County Down, Northern Ireland, on 10 July 1990, and became a professional road racing cyclist who won a bronze medal in the team pursuit at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He rode for An Post–Chain Reaction from 2012 to 2015, winning national junior and under-23 titles before retiring. His story belongs to a small place where young people still ride out into roads wider than they are, carrying the name of Dromore into races they cannot see coming.
