What is recorded here

Gateway, c.1870, comprising shallow segmental-headed opening with rendered surround having keystone, rendered piers, rendered panel over with pointed-arch opening having moulded rendered sill and surround, round-headed elongated flanking panels, and round-headed bellcote over with moulded rendered archivolt, rendered piers, and gable over with cut-stone coping. Renovated, c.1995, with replacement wrought iron gate added and bell removed. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church.
This gateway is an attractive and unusual composition of much character, which has been well maintained and which forms a picturesque feature in the streetscape of Jenkin’s Lane.
