Saint Anne's Burial Ground

Saint Anne's Burial Ground in Killann, County Wexford, holds lichen-spotted markers dating from 1731 to 1950 within landscaped grounds bounded by granite ashlar piers and wrought iron gates. The stones include work by local sculptors Miles Brien and James Byrne, while a Celtic High Cross-style monument from 1898 commemorates Captain John Kelly, wounded at the Battle of New Ross and later executed near the old bridge. Together these graves and monuments preserve a layered record of faith, craft and rebellion in one quiet Wexford landscape.
