Rye Court (in Ruins)

Burnt in 1921, only ground floor of front wall survives, of 7 bays with central door ope approached by flight of steps. Described by Bence-Jones (1978, 251) as 'plain 3-storey 8-bay C18 house. Later porch with columns at corners'. Cobbled yard to rear has 2-storey ranges of farm buildings with central pedimented breakfront. Walled garden to E (occupied by modern house); private burial ground to W (last interment 1981); two lodges and some tree rings.
