Flodden’s blood and Gordon arrogance birthed Rusko, a slender stone prison where kidnapped men bled out in darkness before MacGuffocks inherited the chamber. The castle shed its surrounding halls and surrendered its roof to a violent storm, leaving only the bare tower to watch the Galloway fields. A shepherd occupied the hollow shell around 1900, breathing life into the ruins until the Gordons returned in the 1970s to restore the scarred stone.
