An old claim places a round tower at Farran Church, yet official letters deny that any tower ever stood in the townland. The facts split into a proud memory and a cold refusal, leaving the glebe empty of the very landmark it may have imagined.
Archdall stated that there was a round tower at Farran Church however according to the OS letters there was never a round tower in this townland (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 1, p. 8).
