What is recorded here

An unknown hand built the round chamber in Iniscarn before written history began. Stones still stand where forgotten people placed them, preserving a life so old it has no name. The chamber does not need explanation because human hands already gave it shape. What is missing is not the chamber but the memory of the people who first walked around it.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ROUND CAIRN with chamber. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

Round cairn with chamber, dating to the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age. Such tombs are significant as they represent early communal burial practices and social organisation in prehistoric Ireland.
