Morchard is a round chamber with a narrow neck, not a shallow cave. The chamber reaches ten metres wide and five metres high, while the neck narrows to one metre before opening onto the cliff. That shape suggests a chamber built for people, not a hole dug by water. The chamber may have formed when the cliff fell back, but the clean round space and narrow entrance still sound like a chamber made for use.
