ROUND CAIRN: BISHOP'S CAIRN in Glenwhirry

ROUND CAIRN: BISHOP'S CAIRN

What is recorded here

Bishop's Cairn in Glenwhirry, County Antrim, is a prehistoric Bronze Age round cairn where stone still marks the edge of human memory. The valley may have sounded like breathing water or crashing birds when the first builders lifted its rocks. Later people likely walked past it, pointed at it, or buried their dead beside it while believing the mountain watched back.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ROUND CAIRN: BISHOP'S CAIRN. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; BRONZE AGE. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
