Ronnie Nolan was born in Dublin in 1933 and became the uncompromising heart of Coad's Colts, scoring the last-minute winner in the 1956 FAI Cup final. He defended with such ferocity that Shamrock Rovers honoured his fifteen-year loyalty with a gold medal, while he simultaneously repaired glass bottle moulds in Ringsend. Nolan died in 2023, leaving behind a life where brutal football and honest manual labour merged into one unbroken rhythm.
