What is recorded here
Rock art in Glengad, County Donegal, Ireland marks a natural outcrop where a cup and incomplete double ring still appear on the exposed surface. The broken line may not be a failed circle at all, but a C-shaped mark enclosing the cup, turning the stone into a small trapped moon or an eye half closed. Whoever made it worked quickly on hard rock, trusting that the shape would still speak after water, moss and forgetting passed it by.
Natural rock outcrop which has a cup and double ring motif on the exposed surface of the rock, the double ring does not appear to be complete and may be an example of a cup with C-shaped motif enclosing the cup.
