What is recorded here
Burren in County Cavan is a large boulder carrying two closely set rows of cup-marks. That is all the saved fact gives back: a stone, a side, and repeated marks made by someone who stood close enough to feel the edge of the tool. The boulder may have marked a path, a boundary, a prayer or a game. It still refuses to explain itself, which is why the cups keep appearing in the mind long after the walk ends.
