What is recorded here

Eleven crosses appear on a smoothed rock ledge above the fields of Ballyliffin, suggesting a hidden boundary marker or prayer station lost to time. One cross carries a strange IH mark, perhaps a personal signature or a warning now forgotten. The ledge sits high enough to escape ploughs but low enough to touch daily life, implying these were not decorative toys but functional signs for people who moved through that boggy slope.

A smoothed area of rock outcrop on which at least eleven crosses have been carved. One seems to have IH (S) beside it (M.R. Colhoun). It is situated on the W slope of Crockaughrim above the cultivation level in boggy terrain with a considerable amount of rock outcrop.
