What is recorded here

In tillage. Cropmark (AP, Dr. D.D.C. Pochin Mould) shows linear features, possible trackways, to S of circular enclosures (CO066-055---; CO066-056---; CO066-057---). Gently curving features defined by parallel fosses approaches from SW, forks; N branch curves gently in direction of E-facing entrance of CO066-056---; S branch continues to NE, becomes discontinuous and difficult to interpret S of CO066-057---. Single fosse runs S from E-facing entrance of CO066-057---; parallel fosses probably join it to the S. Further feature with parallel fosses runs N-S slightly further to E, close to field fence. Faint traces of other linear features also visible. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
