Road

Located a short distance SE of KE082-010----, this intra-peat stone trackway occurs in a peat-cutting on the S side of a low, elongated, peat-covered ridge known as Coimin an Chosáin (Ó Cíobháin 1978, 116). It runs NNW- SSE and is exposed for a distance of 7.3m. Formed of large, carefully laid slabs, it varies between 1.4m and 2m wide. It runs into a 1.35m high peat-face at NNW, where it is overlain by .65m of peat. Peat derived from immediately beneath one of the slabs of the trackway yielded a radiocarbon determination of 2820±50 BP (McDonnell 1991, 36). The above description is derived from A.
