On flat commercial bog worked by Bord Na Mona with good views in all directions, Leighmore churches (TN042-055001- and TN042-055003-) are located 1.5km to the NW. One of three toghers which were identified by Bord Na Mona while harvesting peat in Littleton Bog and were subsequently investigated in 1960 by the National Museum. All three toghers were 1km apart and were built to provide a bridge between dryland in the townland of Leigh to the W and Bawnreagh to the E. Two of the toghers are located in North Tipperary (TN042-039001- and TN042-056001-). This togher ran in a NW-SE direction and was c. 4m below the surface of the bog when inspected. This togher was identified in a number of excavated trenches and components identified included a plank, stake and peg (Rynne 1965, 142; Lucas 1985, 39-40).
