Road

The site (Wth 1.65m; D 0.3m min.) is orientated approximately E-W and composed of roundwoods and brushwood in opposing drain faces. The initial sighting consists of a densely packed deposit of light brushwood. There are more than fifty pieces, laid 5-6 pieces deep. The majority of the pieces are longitudinally laid with a small number of transverse elements. Two roundwoods are visible in the opposing drain face. Woodworking is evidenced by a metal-cut pencil point on one piece and chop-and-tear marks on another. Two pieces have been identified as alder. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat.
