What is recorded here

Originally recorded as four parallel, large roundwoods (exposed L 3m; Wth 2m) located on the field surface and showing evidence of woodworking. A number of small brushwood pieces appeared to have overlain the roundwood transversely. Two pegs were also noted (Dunne 1999, 15, 99DR0005A). Excavation in 2001 revealed the togher to be Neolithic in origin (2916 BC), orientated NE-SW, and connected to another togher (LF022-128----) with a different orientation (Whitaker 2009, 14). The remains consisted of six roundwoods (diam. 0.06-0.15m) and numerous pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.02-0.05m) and it continued outside the excavation cutting to the SE and S.
