Not visible at ground level, the ritual site hides beneath County Offaly soil. T. McDonald identified the potential monument during a 1987 archaeological survey of the Clonmacnoise region. A holy tree or bush may have marked the place, its roots drinking rain while people circled above. The earth keeps the shape of that lost worship, waiting for someone to listen.
