Leac Feichin, the ordeal stone of St Feichin, stood near his well in County Galway. Men faced judgment upon that flat stone, a brutal clarity in the local landscape. The stone has vanished without a visible trace, leaving only the memory of its demand.

According to the OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927, Vol. 3, 25), 'a flag stone called Leac Feichin, by which men were put to the ordeal!', was located near St Feichin's well (GA026-009001-). No visible surface trace survives. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 30 January 2023

The site is associated with St Feichin, an early Irish Christian saint linked to several holy wells and monastic foundations in County Tipperary.
