Ring-ditch in Ushnagh Hill

This possible burial monument was identified by geophysical survey c.30m S of St Patrick’s Bed (WM024-059----), in close proximity to two palisaded enclosures (WM024-059001-/002-) (Schot 2005; 2011). It appears as a semi-circular arc of positive magnetic values (c.12m in diameter), extending clockwise from the SW around to the NE, where it is defined by a bulbous terminal, possibly a pit. Ploughing in recent centuries may have destroyed the E sector of the ring-ditch and could also account for the very faint geophysical signature of several other potential ring-ditches identified to its NW and E (Schot 2016).
