Ring-ditch in Beaconstown

Five small ring-ditches cluster beside a probable ringfort in Beaconstown, their shallow fosses visible only when crops grow unevenly above buried earth. The largest measure about fifteen metres across, small enough to fit inside a modern garden yet old enough to predate written memory in County Kildare. They may have marked graves, boundaries or ritual places, but the soil has taken back the answers. The land still holds their shapes, waiting for rain or sunlight to reveal them again.
