The RFA Birchol was a Royal Fleet Auxiliary oil tanker that was lost in 1942 during World War II after striking a mine in the Sound of Eriskay, off the west coast of Scotland. The wreck resulted in the loss of all 35 crew members, and its sinking was significant as it highlighted the dangers of mine warfare in the region during the war.
