Terraced three-bay three-storey house, built c.1795. Pitched slate roof with rendered eaves course and cast-iron rainwater goods. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls with rendered plinth and incised quoins to front (east) elevation. Camber-headed window openings with tooled limestone sills and raised rendered keystones and block-and-start surrounds, having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Recessed square-headed door opening within render doorcase to front elevation, comprising chamfered reveals, fluted pilasters on plinths surmounted by architrave, frieze and dentilated and corbelled cornice. Timber panelled door with brass door furniture, single-pane overlight and limestone stepped approach with cast-iron boot scrape.

This elegantly proportioned former house has retained much of its original form and character together with important historic and artistic features and materials. Such materials include an ornate render doorcase, render window surrounds and historic sash windows. It is one of a long terrace of houses located on the west side of Emmet Square, formerly known as Shannon Square, named after the Earls of Shannon, which was laid out between 1785 and 1810 to accommodate the wealthy merchants of the town.
