Parliamentarian forces under Oliver Cromwell and the New Model Army defeated the Royalist army led by King Charles I on 14 June 1645 during the English Civil War. The Parliamentarian victory at Naseby was decisive, significantly weakening the Royalist cause and shifting momentum in favor of the Parliamentarians.
