The Battle of Naseby in 1645 was fought between the Royalist army of King Charles I and the Parliamentarian New Model Army led by Oliver Cromwell. The Parliamentarians decisively defeated the Royalists, turning the tide of the English Civil War in their favor and leading to the eventual overthrow of the monarchy.
