What is recorded here
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Vigilant as Wreck from the Post Medieval period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Vigilant was a 19th-century British steamship that sank in 1869 near the coast of Anglesey, Wales, after striking a rock during a storm. The wreck resulted in the loss of several crew members and part of its cargo, and it remains a noted maritime casualty in Welsh coastal history.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
