Enclosure in Uragh

In rough hill pasture, on an E-facing slope overlooking Lough Inchiquin and c. 35m S of a river. A large irregular enclosure (95m NW-SE; c. 65m NE-SW) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.7m; H 0.4m) protruding above the surface of the bog. Many of the stones are upright and set at right angles to the line of the wall. The walls meander over the uneven hillside. Hut sites (KE101-066002-, KE101-066003-, KE101-066004-, KE101-066005-) are all within the SE portion of the enclosure. Two more hut sites (KE101-066006-, KE101-066007-) abut the external face of the wall at SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
