Sixteen centuries of rain have not erased the oval cairn above Lough Inchiquin. It still stands beside the old field wall, a small ridge of grass-covered stone on the hill pasture. The valley drops away beneath it, unchanged since the wall was built.

In rough hill pasture, on a NE-facing slope, overlooking the valley of Lough Inchiquin. An oval cairn (3.6m NE-SW; 2m NW-SE; H 0.75m) of grass-covered stones, varying in size and shape, protrude above the surface of the bog. This cairn is 15m W of a relict wall which forms part of a network of field boundaries (KE101-101001-). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
