Enclosure in Uragh

In rough hill pasture, on a NE-facing slope, overlooking the valley of Lough Inchiquin. A circular area (diam. 10.6m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T 0.8m; H 0.2m). The E portion of the interior is raised (H 0.7m) and the W portion is cut (D 1m) into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. Within the interior there is a rectangular area (3.2m E-W; 1.2m N-S) defined by loose stones which abuts the internal face of the enclosing wall along the E arc. Loose stones are scattered on the downslope externally. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
