Thirty to thirty-five metres of earth once circled the ridge spine in County Monaghan, visible enough for the 1834 survey but gone by 1995. That disappearance is not a mistake; it is the life of the place. A field bank curved where the rath stood, then even that memory was taken. What remains is a absence with edges, large enough to have held people, small enough to vanish without a trace.

Situated on the spine of a NW-SE ridge. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 30-35m) is depicted only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map. A slight curve in a field bank NE-SE probably reflects the former presence of a rath, but there is no other indication and the field bank had been removed by 1995 (OSAP).
