Structure

A piece of heavy brushwood (diam. 0.05m) in the drain face with displaced pieces of heavy brushwood in the adjacent and opposing drain faces. The wood is of alder and willow. The site sits in well-humified Sphagnum peat with some Eriophorum. The E end of SMR OF007-079---- is on the adjacent field surface. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
