A relic field boundary is located within the proposed forest area. The boundary wall is 0.5m high and 14m long and is roughly orientated northeast /southwest, although the boundary curves slightly. It is made of a combination of earth, stone and clay and is visible on the 2005 Geological Survey of Ireland aerial photo. The above description is derived from an archaeological assessment report for a proposed new forest at Toorsaleen, Co. Kerry. The report was compiled by Edmond O'Donovan & Associates in April 2014.
