What is recorded here
Graveslab in Tralee marks the original location of a 17th century limestone slab now set into a wall at the southeast side of the Dominican church garden. It records David Roche, esquire and councillor at law, who died in 1686, and his daughter Mary, who died in 1685. The slab may have carried a cross, year and date on its opposite face, but that much remains uncertain. What is clear is that two lives were remembered together on stone, then the stone moved within the same Dominican ground.
This record is for the original location of a 17th century graveslab which is in the garden of the modern Dominican church in Tralee (see present location KE029-119021-). It is presumably from the medieval Dominican friary (KE029-236001-)
