Terraced two-bay two-storey with attic house, built c. 1890. Return to west. Pitched slate roof, clay crested ridge tiles, red brick chimneystack with moulded yellow brick string course and stepped corbel, clay pots, dormer windows with painted timber vertically-sheeted cheeks, profiled cast-iron gutters supported on paired yellow brick corbels, circular cast-iron downpipe. Red brick walling laid in Flemish bond to east and west elevations, smooth rendered return to west, yellow brick plinth and decorative string courses to sill and lintel level of ground and first floor windows. Segmental-headed brick arched-window openings, chamfered reveals and soffit, decorative painted keystones, granite sills, painted timber one-over-one sliding sash windows; ground floor window with painted timber engaged colonnette supporting keystone. Round-headed door opening, painted timber engaged columns supporting frieze, cornice and plain-glazed fanlight, painted timber door with six raised-and-fielded panels, granite steps. House set back from street, polychromatic tiled path, bounded by granite plinth wall surmounted by cast-iron railings.

This house, situated on tree lined Castle Road, is a good example of modest domestic town architecture of this period. The use of polychromatic brick work with decorative string courses, window surrounds and keystone is typical as is the elaborate cast-iron railings. This house is part of a terrace of similar structures and makes a positive contribution to the architectural heritage of Dundalk.
