What is recorded here

Cave is a narrow drystone passage beneath a Galway ringfort, built small enough to exclude strangers and large enough to hold one person in darkness. Its rounded far end and hidden extra facing suggest it stretched further than the entrance admits, as if the builder wanted to keep some of the cave for themselves.

Within N Half a ringfort (GA057-002----). A rectangular drystone-built Man-made underground passage (L 3.3m), running ESE-WNW, to which access is gained via an opening at ESE end. The WNW end of the passage has slightly rounded corners. It is likely that the Man-made underground passage extended further to ESE as stone-facing (L 0.66m) is visible beyond the access point, on NNE side.
