Childrens Burial Ground

Childrens Burial Ground marks a small circular hollow inside the southwest fence of a Galway ringfort, holding three modest grave-markers where young lives likely ended before records began. Local memory claims no new burial has occurred there for decades, yet the stones still protrude through soil that has swallowed most human traces. The children may have belonged to the fortress family or fallen during sickness and storm.
