Lisbunny Castle

Lisbunny Castle stands as a ruined medieval hall-keep on a gentle slope near the Ollatrim River in County Tipperary, its thick stone walls surviving since the late thirteenth century. The elevated eastern entrance and deep arches reveal a home built for defence, while later fireplace changes suggest it eventually became a comfortable residence. Today the bare outline remains beside a church, inviting imagination about the families who lived inside before time stripped the roof and floors away.
