Fairy fort in Templemary, County Cork: a circular raised area, 30.5m by 29.8m, with a 1.25m scarp and shallow external fosse. Cultivation ridges still cross its interior, marking fields worked long after the ring stopped being a boundary for one household. The name fairy fort may be mischief, wonder or dismissal: people saw a shape they did not recognise and gave it a story.

In level pasture. Circular raised area (30.5m N-S; 29.8m E-W) enclosed by scarp (max. H 1.25m); external fosse (max. D 0.5m) SSW->NE. Fosse shallow W->NE. Remains of cultivation ridges cross interior on NNW-SSE axis, extending to N and S across bank into surrounding field.
