Structure

A single layer (Wth 0.98m; D 0.35m) of loosely placed pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.01-0.035m). Twigs were evident within the deposit which may have been associated with root layers above and below the site. A single worked end was recovered from within this material. Birch was the predominant species identified with some alder and ash. The site was located within well-humified Sphagnum peat, associated with some root material and Menyanthes. The site is located 4.5m S of SMR OF007-189----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
