Structure

What is recorded here

Located at the bottom of a SE-facing slope and c. 150m N of Rossdroit church (WX025-011----). Excavation (04E0396) at Site 1 as part of the N30 re-alignment recorded a group of three large post-holes (diam. c. 0.5m) with straight sides that are placed in a square 1.5-2m apart. A fourth post-hole may have been removed by a later ditch. However, a slightly smaller post-hole in the area but c. 2.5-3m distant from any of the others may have been part of what was a ritual structure, although no artefacts suggest this.
