Man-made underground passage in Straid (straid Ed)

A closed-up Man-made underground passage. M. R. Colhoun recorded that it was about 50 yards long and about 4ft wide with several small chambers. The walls and roof were constructed of 'Flags' and it had a clean clay floor. It was high enough for a man to stand in except for a few 'Arches' where it was necessary to crawl. It is situated under a low rise in a grazing field W of the Clonmany river. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
