What is recorded here

Indicated, Stonehall is a bawn in County Clare, Ireland. It is not a castle chamber, castle hall or invented castle. It is a bawn, a bounded outdoor place. The name may preserve a hall, a stone room or a local marker, but the factual claim is the bawn.
See document attached to CL051-124001- with details from Risteárd Ua Cróinín and Martin Breen, The Castles and Tower-houses of Co. Clare (unpublished report). Compiled by: Paul Walsh Date of upload: 18 December 2014
