STANDING STONE (NO.1) in Kilbroney

STANDING STONE (NO.1)

What is recorded here

Kilbroney still holds the first standing stone, an unbroken marker from the deepest human dark. Its schedule and map point cannot touch the woman who may have pressed her palm against its cool skin while the valley slept. Stone does not record love, but it refuses to erase it.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE (NO.1). Recorded period: PREHISTORIC. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
