Unlocated standing stone within townland described by H. Roe in her unpublished article entitled Early Settlements in County Laoighis., p.22. Also described by H. Roe in her unpublished article entitled Rude Stone Monuments in County Laoighis., p.6. 'Follow the main road Abbeyleix to Carlow until top of long hill from Spine is reached, turn left and go up to a house having a red hay barn (Keating). On the left there is a pointed hill called the Black Hill about 4 fields in from the raod in the field beyond it there is a cist (LA023-045) covered by a slab stone with some supporting stones fallen around it, in the field beyond still NE is a large block of stone about 2 ft. 6 in. square' Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 17 December 2007
