What is recorded here
Castle Hill in South Lanarkshire may be a medieval motte, although that identity remains uncertain. The hill has stood above the surrounding land since people first shaped it, perhaps as a fortress or marker. Its exact purpose has faded, but the mound still proves that human hands once changed the local landscape.
