Culzean Castle Policies, Sunnyside is a ditch beside the castle, recorded without a date though its edges still cut through the land. It may have marked a boundary, drained wet ground or kept intruders out, but the absence of a date denies the ditch one of its best stories. The castle has a name and the policies have a shape, yet the ditch itself refuses to say when it was dug or why.
